lil-dude I am not too fimiluar with the area but Goerge W (Perch Guy) seems to have a handle on the urban fishing areas. I would read through his past posts. He's a very knowledgeable young guy and has put alot of time in fishing the Chicago area..
He usually posts "PG Report"as part of his title. After reading through his post's if you need more info you might try sending him a P.M.

Are you looking for walking distance, bike ride distance, bus ride distance, or driving distance?

Schiller Pond at Irving and Cumberland is probably the closest but the opportunities are limited to small fish, usually catfish and bluegill with the occasional largemouth bass.

You can always head east on Belmont to Belmont harbor and fish Lake Michigan. The Chicago River is another option that's not too far away.

What might be the closest body of water is the Des Plaines River. I've heard decent reports from that area near Belmont, but I don't have any specifics.

Hope this helps.
