Fox River Conditions 10-20-2006

The water temperature was 53º this morning. The water level is about the same as last Friday. The water is still moving pretty fast but it is probably wadable for a careful and experienced wader. Water clarity has improved with visibilities in the 10"-12" range.

Extra Large Fatheads are the bait of choice this week for smallies. For walleyes, however, I would go with the Large Lake Shiner. They have more flash than a fathead, and they prefer the colder water. The walleyes are in the faster currents near the dams.

Just a little reminder for all of you trout fans out there, the trout season starts October 21, 2006 at 5 am!! :D

Good luck out there!
