The water temperature was 53° this morning! The river levels have been slowly dropping over the past week. However, it is still high, measuring at 3,340 cubic feet per second. The water is still stained with quite a bit of debris. http://waterdata.usgs.gov/il/nwis/uv?dd ... o=05551540
In spite of the high water, we have been getting reports of walleyes and smallies being caught, and even a few channel cats! Most of these fish were caught on a large fathead minnow under a small float in slack water areas below the dams. In a somewhat unrelated topic, the local ponds are really starting to get active with numerous reports of bluegills and large mouth bass!

It's great to all of our old friends after the long winter! You gotta love spring!
Good Luck out there! 8)
