The water temperature was 76º this morning. Levels have been steadily dropping over the past week. The river is flowing at a rate of 1,620 cubic feet per second ( http://waterdata.usgs.gov/il/nwis/uv?dd ... o=05551540 ). That's a far cry from the 4,700cfs at one point last week!!
We have still been getting numerous reports of decent flatheads being caught on large roaches or gills. Channel cats are still active as well. Smallies are still active as well. Previous to the river dropping they were hanging out between the shore and the first current seam.
Let us know how you're doing out there! We have not been getting a lot of feedback lately. I think the construction is keeping people away!!!
Good luck out there!!
