I tried the pond behind the house on Monday. I made it around once throwing a small Countdown Rapala before the hands began to freeze. I did not expect to catch much, and I wasn't disapointed. It was nice to get out of the house and cast a line though. I really don't know what kind of fish are in the pond. My buddy caught a 14'' bass the day I moved in, but that was it. I am looking forward to attacking it with waxies and small minnows under a slip bobber come March. You can't beat fishing a stones throw away from the backyard :D

Willy, we are fortunate to have our back yard property line adjacent with the Fox Valley Park District. I think because of location and limited parking, the pond does not see much pressure. We also have another one on the other side of the subdivision that is part of the Homeowners Association. That one has No Trespassing signs so I assume it is for Association members only. I guess I have lots of exploring to do this Spring. I'll let you guys know how the fishing is. If it is decent we can always fire up the grill and have a WCF outing at my place one weekend :D

Now that's whay I like to hear!

A friendly smile (or knowing someone) can usually lead to fishing some great subdivision pond fishing, which... often hold nice fish!
Tanks Matt bbq & fishing can't do much better than that, i can smell it now... :D
The pond is close to being iced out. Lets go Spring :p
man ur lucky to have that in ur back yard...the ponds in my backyard are fished out practically except for that carp  good luck with the pond this year
The pond has a relativly low gamefish population, but I plan on adding some quality fish to it here and there. The other day I had something nice on in the vicinity of where I caught a hawg a few weeks prior. With the low bass population I am guessing it was the same fish. I fished 3/4 of the way around the pond after that and caught a couple small crappies and finally this guy.
