ok i need a hand auger now. I am sick and tired of using baseball bats and hammers, and my dads drill. I have already broken one bat. How much do hang augers cost. Lookin into buying one i guess. I don't want to just buy an auger that im going to use 3 months or less of the whole year. I heard they cost like $30 and BPS.

Check with John at Lee's Bait I saw he had like 4 of them at the store today when I stopped on my way home to buy 2 tip ups. He'll give you a great price I'm sure I think they were 6" Mora's

I've seen moras run about 40-45 while the lazers(preferred) run about 70-75. For as few outings as you want to have the mora might be your best bet. I do have to admit tho my only exposure has been with the lazers and they are very nice. You also don't want to get anything above a 6" blade otherwise you'll be too worn out to fish. Sometimes the success and adventure derived from ice fishing is the number of holes you are willing to drill. I prefer the 4 or 5 inch auger but they are hard to come by this time of year.

There was a sale at the begining of the season. I got a laser 8" for $39.99. Im sure they out of stock now. (At least thats how it was last year. I went looking for one in feb of last year and the only ones I could find were $80, ha)

Theres a 6" mora with new blades on craigs list right now for $30.00 in schanburg thats a pretty good deal.

I was at the BPS in Gurnee today and all they had was gas augers.
