Hit Blackwell yesterday. Stopped at Herrick on the way & caught 1 dink bass on a black buzzbait.

After a few hours of solid skunking at Blackwell I decided to pack it in. On the way to the car I was stopped by a DuPage FP cop who told me the lake was closed & gave me a warning. I asked if the lake was closed for the rest of the year & he told me only until the trout season opens on 10/16. Totally forgot!

Glad it happened. Reminded me to head to White Pines on Thursday to give it a shot.

Can't blame you much for not knowing, the weather still denies that fall trout time is coming. Usually I'm in long sleeves and a coat by now not hanging out in shirtsleeves. Anyhow, I personally haven't decided if I'll be out there when we hit the opener date...
