if anyone catches this post before mornin and has an idea how general ice conditions are, please respond. im going to a friends local private pond for ice bass. a small pond, hows the ice on smaller lakes round here?????????? i havent been out for at leat a couple weeks.

I was just at my little pond.There was slushy ice lots of it was cracking around shore and some ice pockets close to shore.I'd say abought 4-6 inches in the middle.Didn't look really safe. It depends on how yours looks.

I headed out Monday morning, ice was still 6-8" thick in the middle. Heard some cracking, but it was across the whole pond, the ones that kind of bellow under the ice...you know what I mean?
