How's your GAS lately?

I'm GASin' bad...not even Tums can help. As I mentioned in a previous post, my gear acquisition syndrome has been in full beast mode since late fall and I've acquired everything from a new tackle bag (barn) to a fish finder for the yak and everything in between. Here are some of my spoils...I went feather treble crazy on my hard baits and it's been good to me, especially on the suspending jerkbaits, gives it this realistic action. Also picked up a heavier combo (Lexa 300HS w 7' Mojo Bass HF) to throw larger baits up to 1.5 OZ. It adds to my Mojo/Lexa lineup handsomely =D

... now if it was only spring ...

Mostly for pike and bass but will def get used as a downsizer rod for musky fishing. Threw a size 14 Husky jerk on it for a bit yesterday till the rain started again, so far very happy with it. Much better rod then the St Croix premier 7ft MH rod the beast was on. Ill be selling the Premier soon with a Lews reel on it.

I've been doing very well for the last few months, but I relapsed yesterday into a bad bout of the GAS. In addition to replenishment of the spinnerbait box, I pulled the trigger on 4 new 13 Fishing Omen Black casting rods and 2 Lews BB1 Pro reels. Going to sell off my 2 St. Croix Legend Tourney casting rods to pay for it. I like the St. Croixs, but wanted some shorter rods for the kayak and can't justify keeping them. If you're in the market let me know. I've got a 7'1" MHF and a 7'1" MF. One was new last season, and the other is new this season. In very good shape and come with a transferable lifetime warranty.

3 keitech tungsten rubber jigs. Anyone else use these?
Had to replace all three off these bad boys. Black, brown, and Green Pumpkin with blue flake. Also got a black football jig to compare and contrast (other 3 are casting jigs). Also got weights for Carolina rigging and drop shot, both of which are brand new techniques to me and I am looking forward to trying them out. Any advice on plastics for these?

For the carolina rig, I like finesse and trick worms, as well as lizards or craws in the spring. One thing that is killer on a carolina rig is the zoom centipede, although they're hard to find. You really can't go wrong with any finesse plastic on that rig, but those centipedes are great little baits.

Grocery GAS

I grocery shop the same way I buy my fishing gear. I just left Jewel and bought:

4 packages of the fancy loin pork chops ($20 worth of meat)
a bunch of bananas
2 yogurts
2 bakery donuts

out the door, $4.14 total spent

(I wish Jewel carried tackle...I have really cleaned up on it at Meijer when I find it 75-90% off on clearance)

My brewing gas bubble popped...picked up another Lews super duty reel along with a Lews custom speed stick 7'6" heavy to throw my smaller swimbaits and bigger top waters 1/2-2oz along with a bunch of jigs, and plastics refills and a spro rat and I picked up a few football jigs from tackle warehouse to replace some I lost. Damn you internet shopping...

Joe...you shouldn't have said that...now my plan to return the Fenwick and replace it with a GLoomis 7HF has turned into keep the Fenwick and ADD the GLoomis 7HF...that means another Lexa 300H...that's now on top of my winter GAS list which requires me to buy 2 Daiwa Tatulas to replace my Lexa 100s...1000yards of line and lots and lots of baits...thanks for calling out my sissy rod collection!!!

Picked up a LTB 7'1MF Casting rod from apetersen, and a Lefty 7.1 Revo STX. 3rd rod in my lineup (besides a big lure muskie rod and an ugly stik for loaning and occasionally trailing gulp on a float.

I'll move my 6.3 STX spooled with YoZuri hybrid to the MF, and use it mostly for crank/chatter/spinnerbaits. The new 7.1 STX goes with my 7'1 MHF LTB, and will be spooled with Daiwa J-Braid (new to me, will review) and used mainly for Jigs, Carolina Rigs, and occasional DPR Pike/Elk Grove High School muskie fishing.

I've been randomly stocking up on baits and necessities for fall and my upcoming trip to the UP next week. Even stopped in at Wal-Mart and Bass Pro in Tennesse while traveling there for work yesterday. Their Wal-Mart selection outs ours to shame. Lost my rain jacket somehow so I had to get a new one...shux!
