[Busse Jim]

Almost 2 weeks ago Busse Had some flooding. Was up a 1-1/2' and 2-1/2 ' at the end of February. ( Thats 8' at higgins, 10' to 12' in the Main) Ya don't see that much since the "damn" Mod. (Great time to fish, though it's a waaay shorter period).

But i was more surprised by what's missing now.




Stump #1, a favorite stop, since i used to wade out to it and sit and fish from it. Is no where to be seen anymore. It disappeared. It got knocked free last year, floated into the shallows and got stuck a couple hundred feet away, encased in weeds, hadn't moved since.
Till now.

Hope it's not stuck on some shoreline in cwb( it floated), was such a great Big fish magnet. Wanted to move it to a nice 3' deep location myself. then again it might have found a new temporary home out in the main.
The only thing I know is, it's still "in" Busse, and i'm gonna have to find it.

Sorry to inform you Joe, but i called Dibs on stump #1 back in '93.

Waded, sat and fished from it, smashed and broke the jagged wood on top to make it a more comfortable seat with plenty of room for my tackle box. Even carved my initials in it (did that on picnic tables too).
That's where i first saw that monster snapping turtle i photo'd in 2011 on stump #2. ( Actually have a video w/audio of her hissing at me). Way back then she was in the water, just her head sticking out, the neck about the size of a Campbells soup can. Can't say i didn't think about that turtle every step on the way back, till i could see bottom

In 2011 she looked like this.
Bigger than a Chunky can or Progresso. 3-1/2 feet head to tail.

Found these leftover eggs 2 weeks later

Soo, I want it back. Or the equivalent amount of fish i'd catch at it
