Jig and a grub??!!

Ok i cannot take it anymore. I keep seeing all these posts where people are SLAYING all species on a jig and a twister tail grub. I'm not catching anything on these and am looking for a little insight into the techniques you guys are using.

ie, Are you preseting it vertically (lifting and droping), swimming just off the bottom, cranking it throuhg the top of the ater column, or some other technique i cannot think of
