~800 cf/s and 0.95' measured out of Wilmington. Another afternoon until dark session on the lower Kank, another new stretch. Clarity about 2' and grass was flowing downriver. Whole pieces, roots and all. River got a bump through today up to 1150cf/s. Rolled with the usual jig and craw and topwater. Brought some squarebills but I jinxed it with the grass floating downriver. Did get one or two on a swimbait and lost a sauger at my feet on it as well. Better smallies in the fastest, deepest water around. Taking the craw drifted through, fish found from the head down to the tailout. Fished a small unassuming pool off the main channel, lighter flow, thigh deep, no grass, solid bottom with random rocks. Got a 22.5" walleye on an owner finesse football jig and zman boar hog, kind of looks like a hellgrammite and a couple short smallies. Odd place for a walleye in the near full sunshine but what do I know.
