OK I WAS GONNA GO FISH EARLY IN THE MORNING ON THE DPR FOR PIKE WITH LARGE ROACHES AT STONEY FORD IN COOK COUNTY. BUDDY CANCELLED AND SAYS HE CAN GO LATER. I WAS JUST WONDERING

ARE THE FISH AS ACTIVE IN THE AFTERNOON AS THEY ARE IN THE EARLY AM,

Considering that the sun will be at its highest peak in the late-afternoons, the fish (if any) will probably be most active at this time. Even when the sun is out, it will warm the water temperatures up to a few degrees.

With this being said, concentrate your efforts where it's sunny and if there's any cover like laydowns, brush, and etc - these items will absorb the sunlight and will give off a little heat, thus attracting any potential fish.
