Lightest Braid on a Baitcaster?

What's the lightest braid anyone puts on a baitcaster without having issues? I know braid will dig into itself because of its small diameter, but is it really necessary to use braid with the same diameter as 12lb mono?

I used to use 10lb braid on a baitcaster but i didn't like it as much as using the thicker variety due to the wind knots. 30lb braid works well but you still will get some wind knots. Personally, I prefer 40 and 50lb braid. Sure it is thicker in diameter than the thinner variety but you still get that sensitivity and it still floats. I prefer Sufix over Powerpro or TuflineXP in larger diameters. All 3 are good but after using all 3 braids a lot on a trip I actually prefer the sufix.
Jim,
The problem is with backlashes. It is much easier to pick out a backlash with 12 lb diameter line then it is with 6-8 lb diameter line. I agree you don't need 50-60+ lb line for breaking strength but the thickness of it makes it easier to use.
Personally, I would not go any smaller than 30lb braid. I have been fishing with Culprit at Deep before when he was using 20lb Power Pro and I was using 30lb. I saw his line dig in and lures go flying.

.............................on a baitcaster. I use 10lb and 20lb braid on spinning reels all of the time.
I've gone as low as 6lb dia (20 lb test) power pro with no problems whatsoever...I prefer 8 lb dia (30lb test) for most applications though=)
