I want to try a local pond out by my parents house. I have caught gills, crappie and plenty of bass and found out ice fishing is permitted. There arent any bait shops that I know of since ed shirley in countryside closed down. Walmart is close by but only sells crawlers. I will be in the countryside/hodgkins area. Any help?

There was also a comment in a fairly recent post about getting bait from petsmart...how about walmart fish tank? I find it rediculous but is it really a bad idea? I'm not crazy or desperate. Im sure power bait and other stuff will suffice.

i knew ed shirleys closed but didnt know it was bought out. fishtech, sorry, i must have missed that on a list of bait shops.

Thanks guys. Ill either hit henrys or lees depending where I'm coming from. I'd like to put some minnows out but plastics are a start. Ill be on fox sunday so might just buy extra bait while I'm up there. Wrench, we have to get out again...you too larry

Cant make it to the chain on Sunday I am heading to Geneva and will be driving my truck on the ice. I was planning on hitting Pistakee tomorrow afternoon to the evening bite. Fox can be an option too.
