3 buddies and I are trying to get away one night, within about 2 hours from here(northbrook), for fishing (bass, walleye, northern). Somewhere we can pitch a tent will be nice. We don't have a boat so we'll have to rent or fish from the shore. How's Apply Canyon or somewhere in Wisconsin(Delavan or geneva maybe?) I would greatly appreciate your feedbacks.

Apple river canyon state park has nice campsites...and fishing can be awesome there for smallies....don't know if you get walleyes or northern in the river....but the have signs posted up about suageye, and keeper regulations....there is also chance for a trout or two still hanging around in the really fast water.

Boat would not be a problem on the river, it is prolly now safe to wet wade....I have had great days there.

Some nice moderetly easy hikes too...the driftless region of the midwest is beautiful.

Just a place to think about...about 2.5 hours from Chi-City.
