NSC report 6/15

Fished by Foster ave from 3:30-5:30. Mostly cloudly with temps in the low 80s. Very light winds from the west. Saw at least three big carps being pull out by others while I was there. I managed to bump into the regular cast ... blue gills, pumpkin seeds, dink bass, and of course, the friendly local beaver. I think the beaver might have spooked some of the bigger bass away today :)

Yeah, my girlfriend already mentioned that in the elevator yesterday :p I gotta try to curb my NSC habit somewhat or start taking more shower :D

Be glad to, Joe :) Although I've never had much luck catching decent size (over 12") LM bass in the NSC, including at Foster. Certainly nothing like the fish you've been pulling in by Lake Michigan. If you want to know more about access to specific locations near Foster, check out my recent post "Chicago River report 6/8" in this topic. Also, I must say that JasonN and George (Perch guy) are much more experienced fishermen of the NSC than I am. I've only really started at Foster this spring and have mainly had success with smaller panfish. But I'm still working hard on my goal of catching a 3 pounder largie from the river. By the way, thanks for the parking tip over on the Lake Mich topic.

Sounds good, there are a pretty good amount of 3-4# largies where Ive been going. Ive noticed tho, as it ges further into post spawn there starting to only get smaller LM and Smallies.....
Actually I'm catching less smaller fish post spawn than I was during the spawn and pre. During the spawn even the little guys were hitting the big baits. The profile of the bait has a lot to do with the size of fish you'll catch this time of year, moreso than any other factor.
