Fished Oakton Pond (very first time) this morning from about 10-10:30am. Sunny, temp in the low 80s, NNE winds.
Tossed a crankbait along the eastern shore .... nada. Zipo. Zilch. I did see a group of small black minnows swarming tightly together in the shape of a softball. Met a friendly fisherman who told me that they were bullheads. It was my very first time seeing these critters and creeped me out a little. They looked sort of like one big furry ball that had independent minded tentacles.
