I know of a small lake in Park RIdge, Illinois off SIbley road that can be seen off Google Images. I was wondering if there is anything worth fishing in there? Ive been out there for a field trip in high school. I know there are at least a few park ridge people on these forums who might see this post and know what I am talking about. I know there are large turtles and a ton of frogs, so im thinking at least panfish there. Catch and Release of course, cant stand the taste of fish, just the fun of catching em

I havent been back there in years, but there should be bluegills and whatnot. I went to preschool there back when it was in the building thats now the nature center. There used to be a little fishing pier or deck for the kids to fish off. You should go check it out.

I will. Cant right now with these storms going on right now. Work at Mystic Waters got cancelled but no fishing yet because the same reason they stopped work. I hope theres some bass in there, seems like its off the beaten path fishing pressure wise. Might have some nice bass. Ill get a report up as soon as I go. Im over the river in Des Plaines.

Those ponds have really turned to crap over the years, they used to have decent pan fish and bullhead, but then they turned off the aerators and let the ponds go "natural" if you go there be prepared for the impressive amounts of algae and duckweed that tends to really get bad later in the season.

I went over there yesterday and walked around. There were absolutely no fish that i could see. But what was weird is there are MILLIONS of tadpoles on the rocks near the edges. They must have no natural predators now that the fish are gone. Ive never seen anything like it, go check that out if your around there.
I got nipped at by a goose while i was walking around, contemplated kicking it, but i walked into "its" territory and didnt catch the hissing/ flapping because of headphones and staring at the water.

And i lied, I saw one fish, but it was about an inch long and used to be someones pet

They have been spraying herbicide to kill the plants near the edge of the pond according to the signs, so there might be fish coming there eventually... Right now its frog heaven. I also saw one of the biggest bullfrogs ive ever seen.

Any rules about catching and using frogs as bait?

Thats where ive cought my biggest bass. But in the winter it froze up and all the fish died. they said they restocked it but i think thats bull. I tryed a couple of days ago with crawlers and i got 2 bites but couldnt get him. It used to be like back to back gills. Now it sucks. You should just try it i wanna see your results.

The best for the pond is live bait ive tryed wacky and t rigged senkos but no luck. It really sucks now because i dont know really to go to catch some big bass now. Im gonna go to axehead or opeka for some bluegill sunday. Might toss a senko or 2 but ill bet a million dollars i dont catch crap.
