Hey, I plan on going out to Montrose on Sunday to try some perch fishing. I was wondering what is a good method, what should I use live or fake bait, and is Montrose a good spot for perch? Thanks :?:
We hit 95th Street piers on Saturday..
Lots of little perch, fun for the kids.
I wanted a few to fillet but the shorty perch are a lot of work
for not a lot of meat.
No minnows all were hooked on shrimp.
One goby, all perch were hooked on a drop shot rig.
They all got tossed back to get bigger.
One came home with us, not to eat but for the fish tank..
July closes perch fishing to adults or kids 15 and younger..
Michigan city is ~1 hour away, that might be worth the effort.
