No, the fish are lethargic because of the cold water. Just a week ago, I was watching those lethargic fish on my Vexilar, jiggling and wiggling my bait in front of them, trying hard to just get them to nibble. Now it's a week later, but what's changed? The water is roughly the same temp and we zoom our baits through the water, hoping for hot action.
Everyone's so eager for the ice to melt. I'm not because I hate March - it sucks! Either the ice has melted or it is unsafe, but the fishing has not taken off because of the cold water. At least with ice fishing I can stand on those fish all day, watch them on my screen and get some of them to bite.
I tried a pond Friday, without a bite. I tried 3 spots on the Fox this afternoon, skunked at all 3.

I was supposed to do Navy Pier tomorrow, but the storms are causing a change of plans...
