Needed to fish in a big way after the week I had. Went to FishTech and got a Chatterbait and a big ass Ratttlin Rapala. Worked the north end. Just as I was about to work my way back to the car. I got what I thought was hit from a LMB that I missed the hook set. Next cast another hit. I should have known then. Next cast I got hit hard. I reeled in a nice nothern. I picked him up with my right hand and then realized my cell phone/camera was in my right hand pocket. As I went to change hands the line broke and down went Mr. Northern wit a big ass Rattlin Rapala still in mouth. Dam thats frustrating.

It seemed about the same size as what we were getting on the DPR last fall. Maybe a tad bigger. I remember last summer when the river rose after a bad rain the pond starting turning on with pike.

I hate it when that happens too, but it's great to see that there are some northerns in there.

Thanks for the report. I bet those northerns eat shad all day: there night be a monster in there :shock:.
