R.I.P. Greg Lake

I'm not sure what forum to put this in. I chose the big Lake Michigan as Greg was personally a very large Lake for the second half of his life.

I started listening (on an 8-track tape) to Emerson Lake & Palmer at the ripe age of six and they were my gateway drug to all kinds of other prog rock including Yes, Kansas, Saga, Rush and Dream Theater.

This photo was on the cover of USA Today. I am the head behind the head. This was from Ringo's 50th birthday party at the Hard Rock Hotel. Ran the security team there for many years before I became a police officer.

Cued up some Charlie Daniels today while tooling around town. RIP.
My dad got a cassette tape from Marbalo rewards for best songs of the 70's and Mr. Bo Jangles was on there. Used to listen to it nonstop as a kid. RIP.
Not music related, but sad none the less. Ron Linder, who founded In-Fisherman passed away today. Most people know his brother Al better, as Ron was more on the business side, appearing occasionally on TV. The Linders were the pioneers of walleye fishing. I was friends with Ron on FB and he was a real down to earth guy that just loved to fish and teach. RIP Ron.
I love the political talk, but for some it is completely impossible to accept someone else has a different opinion. No idea if that is the case with Rambler or not. If he had the inkling to maybe say some not so nice things to people maybe a break is for the best. Not so much on here, but other sites never allowes political talk because it always ends up in name calling and labeling, and eventually just gets locked down. I enjoy the fact that political discussion happens here with not much of that foolishness.
Death is certainly a concern, but Rambler has been checking in and browsing. Ron, you are the grandfather of these fishing sites. There has not been a more consistent poster over the 20 odd years of chitown fishing forums. You certainly have seen quite a few posters come and go. Take a guy like wrenchnfishing. 5000 or so posts over a few years, then poof, never heard from again. I sometimes wonder what happened to some of those guys who came in so hot and heavy, only never to be heard from again.
For whatever reason Betty White hits me harder then most.

Bob Saget. Curious to see the cause of death with him.

Wow, I had no idea that was here in the Eddie Money song. RIP.
Lane's voice was awesome. I enjoy going back and listening to his live performances.
It is sad seeing those 80's guys go. I'm sure some of it will from lifestyle habits, but some are reaching the age for natural death too. It is hard to wrap my head around because those guys are still long haired baby faced rockers in my mind.

I was going to do a Gordon Lightfoot RIP but figured Ron would get to it. Anytime I am heading to the Great Lakes the Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald is on repeat. Sundown is another favorite of mine.

I guess I can close my missing person's report on Rambler. Great to hear from you! I need some Busse reports in my life!
