Hey guys. So a few weeks ago i got a early bday gift from my gf which happened to be the revo premier. I have and sx and stx. I also bought a curado a few months back.
I matched it up with my Johnny morris sig rod and headed out to a local lake and first cast I get major back lash. I reset the settings and everything after was pure joy. this thing is very light and it casts further or just as far as the sx and stx. some ppl say its too light but for me its amazing. Its been about a month since I got this real and let me tell you, the curado had been collecting dust. The premier is super smooth and the drag is just amazing. I dont think its as high as the stx but its still smoother and better than any other that i have used.
The only down side of the reel is that I wish the handles were a little bigger and I wish it came in black....
If you guys are looking for a light and high quality reel the revo premier is the way to go............in my opinion.
Please let me know your opinons too....

John,
Glad you love your reel. I know there are a lot of guys out there that love their Revos too. Garcias have a reputation for their quality and durability. The drag is supposedly ridiculous too.

Personally, I'm a Daiwa guy and I love my Zillion and TDXs. There oversized, swept-back handles are awesome in addition to their freakish performance.

Do you have the new Curado or the silver one? Good fishing.

I have a Revo S ....it's very well made and works great for the price.

I have 4 Abu Garcia reels and they are all very well made.

The Revo's are great reels. I have an SX that I like a lot. I do know that Pk had a bunch of different Revo's, including a Premier and I think that he liked the SX the best.

i have all three...and i too like the SX the best? :? ....but it all could be my line choice...first time out they all started actin a little funny...but added the lube that comes with them to the gears...and they have been bundles of joy since!

I also like the color of the SX the best...you can beat black....it always looks good!

Has anyone tried a Revo Winch?

I have the new "green" curado. I bought it on presale and got it not too long ago. But let me say this, I used to hate abu's back in the late 90's early 2000 era for sure. Now days I keep grabbing my combo with the Revo, especially the premier. Abu's def made the right turn somewhere!

I have 2sx's and 2 Daiwas and overall I love the SX's better. They are all good reels but I wouldn't get another Daiwa as long as Abu keeps making these Revos as nice as they are. On Monday I'm supposed to meet up with a fishing rep who is getting me a 2009 Revo Elite. Currently they are only in Japan and will retail here for $400. It's supposed to be as light or lighter than the Premiere but smoother and nicer. I'm getting it for the price of a SX so I figured I can't go wrong. If all works out, I should have it in time for the next tourney in case anyone wants to check it out.
Now I just have to get another rod... Perhaps an Ugly Stick!

LOL!

There's so much good stuff out there. You can't go wrong if you are sticking to high-end Shimanos, Daiwas, and the Revos.

I've played with the Revos at the store but never cast one. Felt good to me. Good fishing.

What Daiwa`s r u comparing the sx`s too ?
I have a 153HSTA and a 2009 model twitchin bar (don't remember the model # but it's not the Viento, its the 11 ball bearing version of the old one).
I almost bought a Zillion about 2 months ago but I got the SX instead. I liked the lower profile of the SX. And I liked that the SX was about $100 cheaper.
Just looked it up, Megaforce Plus 100TSH (twitchin bar)

Comparing the SX to a Magaforce isn't really a fair comparison since the SX is $100 more.

Are you using the new 2009 153 HSTA or one of the older versions? The new ones run about $140 and have been updated? I've only heard good things about them but haven't used one yet.

I've got a Premier and STX as well, both are great reels. The Premier is so light I can cast all day without even knowing it's in my hand.

Otherwise I use a Cablea's Prodigy (Daiwa built) reel, it's a bit heavier but seems like a quality workhorse.

I can still cast farther and more accurately with my spinning reels though...

The magnaforce is the new model which runs $100. The 153HSTA was $160 and is a 2008 model.

Yeah, I had a bunch of STXs and a Premier. They didn't justify the cost difference between the SX. I just had to add a little more oil and grease to them straight outta the box.
