Me and some of the guys spent the night on a northern wisconsin river. Water was high, fast, and cold for mid July, but I'd take that any day over sitting under the flight paths at O'Hare that I call home.
The trip was not for the weak, 25 free flowing river miles encompassing over a dozen sets of rapids, half of which were class 3. And yet everyone made it through, only two guys were tossed from there kayaks, not losing much or hurting anything because we were all prepared for the worst. All though I had been through these rapids before, this was my first time in a sit on top fishing kayak and even I was surprised with what we all accomplished. Im sure everyone has a new found respect and confidence in their kayak and kayaking abilities after the trip.
As for the fishing, although we all had our hearts broken once or twice, plenty of fish were caught, and eaten lol.
Congratulations to Adam (HnG) on a river walleye of a lifetime! (Released)
***Warning*** this walleye may cause arms and elbows to feel numb
