Thats a tough one, last year I was still ice fishing at the end of march while people were already open water fishing ;)

My guess is March 18th for most ponds ;)

Once the river reaches 40+ i'll be hunting smallies. No matter if theres safe ice anywhere else, the river is where my heart is :D
That should be some time in March
Damn it EYE! You took the words right out of my mouth, except replace the smalies with suckers.

As for the ice out, I wish it was tomorrow, but I'm gonna say last couple of days of February to first week of March.

I can go to ice or open water.
:D

My son asked me about a story in a magazine he found in the "office" (bathroom) reading room.
Illinois Hot spots, Ill River Feb for walleyes.

I told him yes-lets go!
10yr old reading fishing magazines in the bathroom!

As long as runoff isn't too bad, i can deal with a slight warm up to drop the boat in.
I'm looking at the 15th or 22nd..

OK-come on Spring!
