I was afraid of the crowds on the lake front so I decided to go for some bass and leave the salmon alone this morning. Rudy just bought a new boat for the FP lakes and this morning was a great time for it's maiden voyage. Check out his new ride!
We arrived at lagoon number six at 5:00 am and fished in the dark for and hour before the sun came up. It was freezing cold out, the radio said it was 45 degrees at 4:30 as I was driving there. We started off with topwaters but that bite was nonexistent.
I switched to a purple plastic worm and caught this 13.5"er on top of the dam between lagoons 5 and 6.
We portaged to lagoon 5 and I caught this 14.5"er with the same presentation.
We traveled all around the lagoon system and only saw one buckethead catch a small catfish. It was nice to get Rudy's new boat out (no leaks!) and catch some fish.
