Fished lagoon #6 from 6pm-7:30pm. Warm all day but much cooler in Glencoe. Temps in the 40's with a NE wind. Water still high, but not as ridiculous as last week.

Things are coming alive at the Skokie Lagoons. Saw lots of shad poppng the surface and a few big splashes chasing them.

Managed one 16.5" largemouth bass on a Diawa Shad Master crankbait.

Sure was nice to get on a fish at the lagoons!

Nice bass Jay !
I also purchased a few shad masters this year ,they look like a good crankbait.

Run into any cougars Jay ?

Jason, Did you get to the west side of lagoon #6 ? The path was really flooded the other day when I was there. I did not have my hip boots on so I fished the east end mostly. Caught a couple crappies on a small white spinner .

I did indeed bring my waterproof boots and "waded" down the flooded trail to get to the back of lagoon #6. It actually wasn't too bad. Only about 40 yards were flooded and it was about 1 foot deep at the deepest.
