I stopped by a tiny residential pond after work and was pleasantly surprised by how active the bass were. I was using a slow retrieve, bouncing shallow running, rattling crankbaits off of all sorts of crap in the water - wood, rocks, concrete blocks, stuff people threw in the pond - and I was getting hit off of the contact. I didn't measure the two biggest bass, but my estimate would be in the 3-4 pound range.

This pond is about the same size as the Salt Creek pool near Arlington Heights Road.
