Drove out to the old Winfield Dam site yesterday for 3 hours of fishing. Plenty of people around - mostly dog walkers & family groups on their bikes. Kept my distance from them all.

Unfortunately the fish kept their distance from me. My totally unscientific 'temperature gauge' said the water was really cold. Started with a Keitech, tied on a Pit Chunk, tried a Shad Rap, tube, square bill. No hits - nothing. Maybe Ron's right & the panic has resulted in the fish being gone.

Practiced more dramatic social distancing by walking across the bridge & fishing the eddy from the east side. Also tried above the rapids with the same results.

Packed it in after 3 hours. Great day anyway! More to come.

Got out Sunday late afternoon around Plainfield. Water temp was 48 degrees. Got skunked with a Zaragosa, fluke, square bill and a hellgie. Tied on a blade bait and that was the trick. Landed 6 sm and missed 2. All hit hard, no sissy hits. Largest was 17, smallest was 14. Females were swollen with eggs so we are still prespawn. I didn't see any nests in areas that I have seen in the past. Hope this is a start of something good

Indeed I am Ron. And indeed we have a 'shelter in place' in effect. Guess I'm still an old revolutionary - I might find shelter on the DPR, Busse , the Dupe, etc. :D

Stay well and stay safe, our WCF friend.

Pfly was re-writing an 90s Aerosuck song if you were scratching your head about his post. My kid cracks up every time he hears that tune.

Lori Lightfart was rumored to be starting a shelter in place, but just gave a presser from inside bubbleboy's tent and isn't doing one for Chicago as of yet. I'm sorry that for now you are not Rambler as the authorities are not allowing you to Ramble. We might start a thread for suggestions for your new temporary screen name here.

Well that didn't take me long. Pacer.

Your new screen name is Pacer. A very easy switch from the AMC Rambler to the AMC Pacer automobile. A simple switch of descriptive action nouns. Not being legally able to leave home and ramble, you will be a pent up pacer.

Hey wait a minute! Pacer? NFW!! First of all, my screen name has nothing to do with AMC although I had a '64 Cross Country back in the day. Sweet little wagon with 198 CI of rompin', stompin, pushrod 6. No idea of the HP - best guess is not much.

But if I had to be associated with that great, lamented auto company (I remember when Nash & Hudson merged to form it) I'd prefer to be 'Matador'. I'd need to be a matador to ward off all the bullshit that gets flung around here.

"Ambassador" also fitting and "Javelin" though not as appropriate was one of their best models for sports cars along with the "Marlin".
Don't forget the AMG. Too bad they stopped making them - great little performance car. And the '64-65 Rambler Classic 2 door with the big engine (think it was a 390) was pretty cool. But the '69 AMC Hurst Rambler drag car was the best of the bunch.

Oh and BTW - I knew what PF was referring to. But I think Arrowshit took inspiration from Dalton Trumbo's Johnny Got His Gun - just about the most depressing thing you'd ever want to read. If you really want to get down in these downer days pick up a copy. Be sure to spray it with Lysol.

Reminds me of the clip from the Metallica video and how head banging started.
I was watching some Metallica last night and watched Spit Out the Bone.

Some pretty weird scenes of contagion spreading. These flying orb machines are patrolling the streets and they look much like the corona virus.
