It's almost as bad as 1987 which was the worst by far.....

First went to Itasca to help bail out my aunt. They got hit REALLY HARD!

Then did some exploring in Wood Dale and on the way back home.....

Let's try not to be stupid out there..... Creek has some class-5 rapids going down in there.

Highlight of my afternoon was probably seeing goldfish and carp swimming through the streets of Hinsdale.

Probably won't be fishing here until sometime in October...... :(

Hey nice pictures! Where does your Aunt live? My parents house shows up in one of your pictures (corner of forest and grove in Itasca). You're right that it wasn't as bad as 1987, that one took out about a 1/3 of our foundation.

The only really frustrating thing about that flooding, is I was too busy taking care of things in the house; I kinda wanted to sink a couple of lines into the flood water in the field to see if I could catch something.

:p Indeed! I saw a decent amount of carp, a few channels and perhaps a bass or two in the water.
I have some pictures that show the water much higher, but they are on facebook, so no dice.

Be happy your family doesn't live off of Bryn Mawr Ave in Itasca. I was up doing a little catfishing at that pond during the rain. Public works said there was over 5 feet of standing water on the road at one point.
