I DVR over the weekend "World's Greatest Fishing Show" and Mark Zona was going after spotted bass at the Alabama's Logan Martin Lake.. seemed like some good fishing. Any places in IL that have spotted bass?

Unless they are privately stocked, I have never heard of spots around here. They are more of a southern range fish. Yami Masters uncle over in Imdiana stocled spots in on of his ponds though with good success. I wish they were available as they are on my list of species that I have not caught yet.

Some rivers in central and southern IL have spots in them. Couldn't tell you which ones though, but I know that places in southern IL have them.

They don't get as big as largemouth do, but I hear they fight pretty good. Unfortunately, the closest I have ever gotten to one is through my TV screen.

Very common down south.
Catch a bunch in the Ozarks where I fish..

Haven't caught one in Illinois up North.
Maybe one at Rend Lake but thats still south..
