I am looking to go to Bass Pro Shop and buy a St. Croix baitcasting trigger rod. I have a shimano citica with 10lb test fireline. I have looked at all of them and havent decided what one i schould get. I need something that is sturdy enough to pull in bass, northern, and salmon.

Im looking for a rod to use swim bait, top water, crankbait, drop shot, and finesse. Basically a rod that can do anything.

I mean wat makes a crank bait rod a crank bait rod.

Does anyone have any suggestions on wat to get.

Here is wat i was thinking

6 foot 6 to 7 foot, medium or medium-hvy with a fast or extra fast tip is a good general guideline. From there it depends on what lures you use and whether you want to pull them out of thick weeds and stuff. for example - that crankbait rod wont be the best choice in your price range if you throw mostly plastics. crank bait rods arent as sensitive, they flex through the whole rod instead of toward the tip. Try and get a general use rod instead.

LOL Dino. Sort of like Culprit is the G. Loomis expert I guess.

It is going to be really hard to find a baitcasting rod that can cover all of those things. You want to throw stuff that is less than 1/4 oz all the way up over 1 oz it sounds like. One rod can't do that. How much do you want to spend? I have St. Croix rods from the Premier, Avid and Legend Tourney series and all are great rods. A crankbait rod usually has a M tip so more of the rod flexes when you cast to get greater distance. That doesn't work well a general rod because its not stiff enough for most hooksets.

I have one of these rods in 6"6" in MH with a F tip and it is a great all around rod for the price:
