I was seing a commecial last night on this I was wondering does this work or is it another TV gimmick. It looks like it has some great action and the bass seem to gobble it up. And well yea the last fishing commercial I saw was about a blinking fish..lol that looked retarted.

It is nothing new. They have been around for years. I have never tried them but I think that you would be better spending your money on proven lures. I am sure that they will catch fish, but any better than other lures? I doubt it. If I remember correctly, I think that I have seen them at Dicks and maybe even BPS.
TV gimmick
Every TV gimmick is a TV gimmick. Ever see one of those that they admit it doesnt catch anymore fish than the competition. No. Everyone claims their lure is the best.
I did have some banjo minnows - had to be around 10 years ago. I didn't order them from TV - that much I know. I think I got them at a wal mart going-out-of business sale.

I do remember catching a couple bass from a private pond on them - didn't really use them much after that. They will catch fish as will almost any lure in the right circumstances. They are basically a slug-go with a different hook rig, so don't spend more on them than you would for a slug-go.
My buddy rob busse used to fish them alot as a kid and nailed alot o bass. It was his #1 bass bait. Though now I would more trust a senko or yum dinger. I did see Trev Gowdy catch a monster northern pike on the big banjo minnow in canada on that tv show "Quest For The One". I might even throw it for kicks next time i go to canada.[/u]
ive only caught one fish on it and it was a 21inch bass 5lbs on a private lake in Michigan. But ive heard they work and but i wouldn t buy them

I've actually had some pretty good success with the banjo over the years; have caught some big bass and a couple of nice northerns. Like others have said though, not sure that they work any better than some of the more proven lures out there, but they do work.
its a cool set up. they work for me. I dont care for the plastic minnows that come with them, but I use the rig with gulp minnows and love it!
