you're talking about two different things. staying home collecting unemployment really has nothing to do with the great resignation. last I checked you dont get unemployment if you resign/quit your position. The resignations are mostly boomers taking early retirement or not wanting to risk their health working during Covid, women (and some men) staying home to take care of kids while schools were closed, and professionals finding greener pastures that allow full remote work or if they have the means taking sabbaticals. Just read an article about substitute teacher shortages. many subs are retired teachers and they dont want to be in a school environment right now.
