Was able to get out on the north river Friday for a few hours searching for some eye's but the bite was tough with only one small eye taken. Several White bass and Drum but the nice fish for the afternoon was a LMB.

Sunday was a different story as we headed out from 8-1pm fishing with small jigs tipped with minnows, we were able to boat 3 very nice eye's between 16-18 inches. Crappie are also active with some nice ones between 12-13 inches. We also caught some respectable white bass around the 12 inch mark and one 16 inch Flathead that put up a great fight. Was a great weekend to be on the water and water temperatures were 74 degrees at launch time. Thats about ten degrees lower than usually this time of year. Fish were taken in different depths today ranging from 3 to 9 foot of water and vertical seemed to be the answer with lite jigs/minnows.

It's great not having to battle the heat as we usually do in August. Hopefully, this cooler weather will last till fall. 8)
