Well, I got out for some Top-Water fun at a friends pond in Barrington. I never fished it before and was totally suprised on the action and the size of the bass in there. I also threw a texas rig, but it was so weedy, I went back to top-water, although we did pick up a few fish on a texas rigged 7" Pink and brown Powerbait worm. As well as a texas Rigged Craw in black n blue. The ticket was barely crawling them but just holding tension and shaking them. But once I went back to top-water, I could not stop getting strikes. I must have hit 20 bass in 20-30 minutes on top-water, it was every casts! I will be hanging with her this coming 4th of july, so we will see if I can sneak in a night bite again

BTW, My hot bait was a Black and Red Chug-Bug as shown in the pic. Also once it got pitch dark out, the bite stopped... :x I have seen that happen with the top-water bite before this year and it started to pick back up around 11:00pm after it slowed down. Hope this can help some people in the near future. I have been keeping a log book and its going well :D

All in all, it was a great couple hours by the water, I will be back out there this coming weekend :p

Heres a couple pics...

Man that bass looks like it was on an olson twin diet and then had an eating binge. Its probably gunna go throw up later to maintain its figure.

I have never seen a bass so thin that had put such a belly on, its belly is gigantic but not weight on the tail.

ToothDoc had a smallie from Canada that looked like it was ready to explode. The funny thing is this bass jumped like four times before I got her in. She still didn't pop on the jumps, They were not head shakes either, she came out like a bullet all 4 times. I must have casted 50-60 yards out and she hit on the 2nd or 3rd pause after the pop. I barely saw an explosion, I felt it more than anything.

The calcutta 200 can launch a Chug-Bug like no other on a 7' rod  It's my favorite top-water reel for heavy baits. :p

SpecialEd, LOL a Pool-Boy, haha!!! I can't wait to hit the ice out there

Matt, It's a Keeper!

LOL, I hope not, although it is a small world.

BTW Fishin D, her house is actually to the right of my shoulder, I didn't even have to leave her back yard to catch fish! :D But yes it's a rich girls mansion, only 5 or 6 houses on the pond. Haha, you think I wanna get married after hearing about you guys shopping at BPS and having the wife complain!

Thanks for the comments all!
