Well, I got out for some Top-Water fun at a friends pond in Barrington. I never fished it before and was totally suprised on the action and the size of the bass in there. I also threw a texas rig, but it was so weedy, I went back to top-water, although we did pick up a few fish on a texas rigged 7" Pink and brown Powerbait worm. As well as a texas Rigged Craw in black n blue. The ticket was barely crawling them but just holding tension and shaking them. But once I went back to top-water, I could not stop getting strikes. I must have hit 20 bass in 20-30 minutes on top-water, it was every casts! I will be hanging with her this coming 4th of july, so we will see if I can sneak in a night bite again
BTW, My hot bait was a Black and Red Chug-Bug as shown in the pic. Also once it got pitch dark out, the bite stopped... :x I have seen that happen with the top-water bite before this year and it started to pick back up around 11:00pm after it slowed down. Hope this can help some people in the near future. I have been keeping a log book and its going well
All in all, it was a great couple hours by the water, I will be back out there this coming weekend
Heres a couple pics...
