I have seen some weird stuff on the banks on the DPR but this definitely ranks up there. Not a single person in sight where I found this.

This could be a stretch...or not. Descanso.
I've seen hundreds in New Mexico along with a number of Ghost Bikes. In fact I'd be 100% certain if someone lost their life in that area.

Wow those ghost bikes are wild. I wonder what the origin of that particular homage is.

This looks like an offering to the river gods, but the pineapple really throws me :wink:

Only thing I can think of is in chinese culture it is common to put fruits as a offering to the deceased. See it at cemeteries all the time but first time at the river. Scattered ashes possibly big lebowski and like said spongebob style lol

Well that is a bit less frightening than the half decayed sex doll I saw at Camp Pine hunting down a geocache. Ghost Bikes are memorials to a bike rider that died from being hit by a vehicle.

That's an Indian ritual. Dot not feather. You will also find lots of coconuts in the river laydowns and in pileups washed on shore. That's another big one they like to offer.

Okay it's a Hindu ritual. Thanks Aux for answering this one. Dont know about the rope. This is the section off first avenue in riverside between 22nd and Ogden incase anyone wants to see if coconuts are now on the menu!
