Just a reminder how windy LaSalle gets, I heard a boat capsized from waves the other day and launched the two passengers. Luckily both swam to shore safely but one did suffer a leg injury. Has anyone else heard this>
I didn't hear about it, but not hard to believe, and good that they were ok. Even on "calm" days it's rough out there, and my little 15' boat gets tipsy sometimes.
I think a general rule of thumb for Lasalle is- add 10-15+ mph to advertised wind speeds when boating there. And watch the wind warning signals for safety. Probably similar on other perched lakes as well.
