Attempted to fish on Thursday but too windy. Rented a boat from graybeard on Friday. Caught Three Walleye trolling shad rap #5 on the northside of the dike. About 9am the winds picked up and we had to head in. It was weird. The lake was calm then all of a sudden we were swaying in the boat. Guess thats Heidecke.

Heidecke was actually built to take on as much wind as possible. Lasalle too. As a former cooling lake, Heidecke is perched (elevated) to maximize the cooling effect for the former power plant. So even light winds at Heidecke can seem strong.

Thats right, thats the way this lake was made to be. I was out today for a while, it was pretty slow, with that colder weather. I did miss a nice striper about noon, had it to the boat twice, and then came un-buttoned on me.
