BPS has 1000 yard spools on sale for 6.88. I bought a small spool at Lee's last year on sale for 1.99 an was amazed that the line is constantly on clearance every time I find a place that sells it. The 10# smoke/clear I have on my standard spinning setup and it performs like 20+ pound line with no twist and it doesn't absorb any water. I caught my personal best northern on it without a leader.

I've bought two spools of this stuff 10# and 20#. It has proformed awesome (had a five pund LMB jump into the other side of the boat while hooked and the line didn't even get knicked). For $6.98 this stuff is a steal, even you just use it for backer under braid.

I looked for it when I was at BPS a few weeks ago and all they had left was sizes that I don't use like 4#. This is good quality copolymer line. I wouldn't recommend using it for backing. I would buy some cheaper stuff for that.

I changed my mind... no backing for this stuff! It's first class line, i bought 10# and 20# in the smoke. It's made the top three for me

1. Fireline
2. Berkley Ironsilk (Trilelene Maxx now)
3. Yo-Zuri Co Polymer (sorry Stren orginal)

I turned into a line snob a few years ago after losing too many big fish.

All I have used recently is Gamma and I haven't lost anything on it yet. It's a bit pricey but if your serious about targeting big fish and not worrying about losing them becuz your line sucks it's worth it.
