Hey everyone,

I'm on the board of directors of the IL chapter of Backcountry Hunters and Anglers - If you haven't heard of us before, we're a national non-profit that seeks to ensure North America's outdoor heritage of hunting and fishing in a natural setting, through education and work on behalf of wild public lands and waters. In Illinois, where roughly 97% of the land is privately owned, that mission is primarily to protect what we have now in order to preserve access to outdoor opportunities to future generations.

As one of our first events as an official chapter, we've organized a clean-up event at the Greene Valley Forest Preserve on Sep 7th. I know there are hundreds of miles of shoreline in northern IL that need this kind of work, but this is just event one of what I hope to be many more down the road. If you're able and interested, we'd love to have you come out and lend a hand. Check out https://www.backcountryhunters.org/rive ... reserve_il for more info and to RSVP.

We're also co-hosting a pint night event at DuPage Fly Fishing Co. on Sep 4th where you can come out, have a couple beers, talk about hunting and fishing with some like minded folks and help support public lands and waters. Again, more info and to RVSP visit https://www.backcountryhunters.org/il_pint_dupageflyco

If you've got ideas for other habitat work where we should focus efforts on I'd love to hear them as well.
