Alot of people come up with great idea's but never put them into play. It's people like you that take the risk and take it that extra step that become succesful and make it happen.

It's hard to answer the questions with out seeing the product. But you have definitly got my attention. Can't wait to see the product.

Best of luck to you...

 well first congratulations on your brilliant idea! wow if all and all works i would deffiniety be will to buy the hooks for probably like a pack of 2 or 3 for a dollar or something like that. good luck and let us know in progression how this is working out for you. Thanks a lot for posting, and once again good luck!

Throw price out of the equation, in this day and age you just find a higher end target group if your current one can't afford the product. Sad but true.

With all the people we both know that drop 20 bucks on those stupid lucky crafts and then proceed to lose them on the first cast I can't imagine anyone bitching about the price of a hook that doesn't lose fish, it just won't be the under 30 crowd.

I think the biggest thing is if it really presents an advantage in keeping the fish on the other end of the line and you really lose less fish you are going to be a very rich man Augy.

If they work I will take some to Sam Rayburn Texas with me in April or Lake Fork in the fall(maybe you should sponsor us lol)

When guys are fishing tournaments like the McD's Big Bass Classic for 1-5 million in prize money they tend to spend whatever the sellers' asking price is for something that will increase their chances of boating the winning fish.

Which would bring me to the "golden" question, without disclosing too much do you think these "hooks" will be allowed for use in tournaments or not? If so call my cell as soon as you read this hehe, if not might be moot.

Glad to see I've peaked everyone's interest. Your kind words of encouragement has totally rejuvenated me and I'm working none stop.

I'm sure I've stirred everyone's imagination. How can a fishing hook offer all these features? How does it work? As Jay mentioned, once the legal matters are finalized, I can reveal more.

But I can answer some of your questions.

JNap: My question then would be to ask why wouldn't any organization endorse a new hook idea if it promotes healthy fisheries? Not to mention that it works even better than a treble hook. So yes, I absolutely believe it will be accepted by all organizations.

And there's your answer Andrew. No need for a "treble" hook version. It already works better than one. Just replace your existing hard baits and voilla. And remember, it's also weedless too!

Fonz:
Flexibility - The hook will be available in several versions for different applications. For instance, there is a version specifically designed to replace stock hooks on crankbaits. Hooks such as spinnerbaits that have permanently attached hooks obviously can't be so easily replaced. This is where I'll license the patent to lure and hook manufacturers to implement my hook to their line of products. Do you hear that??? Cha Ching!!

Ease of use: Great question! Works just like any other hook. Fish strikes and you set the hook. That's all there is to it. You do however have to actively set the hook. But isn't the "hookset" one of the best parts of sport fishing? I get a thrill when I feel them taps and making that hard hookset to feel that connection to a lunker. Man, that's why I fish!

The big question! Price! - It's really an incredibly simple concept. Manufacturing and developing costs should be minimal. Any hook manufacture will have the means to produce it. No special technology will be required to produce it. All of the traits should keep the cost down and to deliver a competitively priced product. That is of course if I don't follow Gary Yamamoto's marketing and pricing philosophy.

I'm making some initial contacts and will keep you guys updated. Again, thanks for all your support. I promise anyone wanting to help beta test will have the opportunity.

Augy I believe acceptance by tourney org's will be as easy as working with the local City of Chicago Gov't.............all you'll need to do is grease the right hand and it will be done :) No forms to fill out, no council to vote lol

Hmm, you sure are jazzed about it, so much so I had to come out of my four month fishing slumber!

Seeing as I am probably the cheapest angler on the site, price would matter to me, but only as it relates to potential loss. Like any lure, I'd pay a fair amount, but if I'm losing one every time out, then I just end up going for a cheap version or a different lure. I guess this would only really apply to single hooks, not necessarily a lure with your hooks.

But, if its totally weedless, etc. But I must say I'm clueless as to any design that would do what you are claiming and still be essentially as useful as a regular old hook.

Best wishes to you, its good to see the good ol' American spirit alive and well!
