Slowly but surely I've been digitizing my library of 35mm slides. An unscientific estimate is that I have somewhere around 7000 slides but it's really just a guess - could be more.

After scanning I've been cleaning up a few of the better ones and I've shared a few here. Here are 2 I thought WCFers might appreciate and as my subject line says I'm giving away a honey hole. It's the Geraldine Lakes in Jasper Nat. Park Alberta.

Not only is it a fantastic place to catch trout but for those of us who fish more for the places it takes us than for the actual catching, it is one of the most beautiful places you can find.

You can find it easy on google maps. It comes up as 'Geraldine Lakes Improvement District' but I'm hard pressed to understand just exactly how it could be improved.

Looks beautiful. I may have to go scrounging around for my pics from a Colorado trip some years back. Haven't looked at them in a few years. Didn't fish a ton, but I took 1800 pictures in two weeks there. Have some fishing pictures, though.

Very cool to say I stood in the Colorado River and caught Brookies on a little inline spinner. Very eery, though, standing in that river by yourself, and knowing a bear or mountain lion can come wandering over to see what ya got on the end of the line at any time. Or a big bull moose.

It's different out there in the mountains. I'll say that much. Absolutely loved it, though, and wanna go back. Beautiful scenery.

Those pics you posted remind of it a lot.

1800 shots in 2 weeks is pretty impressive.

Forgot to mention - the shots are from Aug. 1974. And BTW, in Jasper there's always an 'opportunity' to run into a griz.

This got me thinking so I did a better, more accurate count of the slides in my library (still not completely accurate) and it turns out the number is over 12,000.

I've digitized maybe 40% of them. Jeez...
