Fished Lagoons from boat through 4 & 5. No bites on spinnerbait, chatterbait, swim jig. Spoke with a Fisheries guy who said he was there to check on the weed kill. Much easier to get around and a lot less weeds compared to other summertime ventures to the goons. Huge balls of baitfish everywhere. Think I will wait until late Sept. to head out again.

Thanks for the report! I haven't been to the Goons since July. Hope they're careful with that weed kill.

The west channel frequently gets pretty choked this time of the year. A couple years ago I tried pushing my way thru west of the big island south of tower. Had to back out, it was like paddling in pea soup.

Grain - I think you're answering my post from another thread. If by 'Muir' you mean Hetch Hetchy I can't argue. Both are blights on the landscape.

I think Glen Canyon comes to mind 1st because it was built during my lifetime and one of my favorite authors - the late, great Edward Abbey - wrote so passionately against it.

Unfortunately his disappointment over Hetch Hetchy probably contributed to Muir's death.

I should probably add that in spite of my anti-dam feelings I'm in favor of the dam that holds back the waters of the 'goons.
