Got out for a few hours Saturday on the main lake. Wind was pretty annoying. Made me really want a pedal drive kayak so I could drift and pedal back up against the wind. I guess it could have been worse. It could have been snowing. Bass were in full prespawn action. Landed about a dozen. Half male and half female. Some of the females really had some big bellies and nice weight. White shallow swimming bladed jig was the ticket right above the weeds.

Right on. The Chicago area fishing community is sometimes smaller than you think. But sometimes If I'm talking to someone and ask if they are on WCF I get a strange look.

Nice haul! With some nice pre-spawn too!

When is it not "annoyingly" windy on Busse?

So the pelicans didn't eat all of them.
The Pelicans only seem to have depleted the availability of prime sized bait fish left over from the winter.
 I'm thinking a good thing. We'll find out

No shit. Last time was so brutal I thought either my arms would fall off or I'd have a coronary. Heading to Skokie Lagoons today - at least there you can get out of the wind.
