One week ago Coyote and I were looking at 67 degree water temps and big bass smashing buzzbaits. Today the temps ranged from 59-62 and it was quite a different story. The bass bite in the morning was tough with about a half dozen boated. The real savior for most of the day was the pike. Mostly snakes, but they were smashing everything. Our best action was on jerkbaits in 6-8 feet of water. Even got a couple walleye on a LC Pointer. Towards the end of the day the wind and rain calmed down and we were able to work back up shallow and the bass returned in force. Lost count of totals but an easy 30+ bass day with around 15 or so pike thrown in to. Not too many pics because of the rain today. No boats at the launch in the morning and two when we pulled out

22'' postspawn female. I would of liked to catch her about a couple of weeks ago

PERSISTENCE is the key word for yesterday . To get to the launch and it be raining and no other boats there is a dismal feeling. To go roughly 6 hours with only 7-8 fish gets you thinking why the heck are we out here. But sometimes when you try hard enuff good things happen and it sure did in the last hour........ and the best thing about we did not see another boat within 500 yards of us as we were picking them off 1 by one. Matt gave quite a lesson in trolling , pike , walleye and bass all within10 minutes was crazy. As Matt stated Pike are hungry rite know for sure, anyone who likes to catch them can do so in 6-12 feet of water. Thanks again matt , but can you get some windshield wipers that work :D :D

Thanks dudes. I should rephrase. It was a tough morning fishing and weather wise. At one point Mike curled up on the floor of the boat w/ his head under the console to get away from the rain and cold. We were close to calling it a day around noon but we decided to have some lunch at the inbetween and try to dry off and refresh ourselves. The afternoon bite certainly made up for all the crap in the morning. Bass were going good on 4'' Dingers wacky rigged. We were both using 6lb braid, however I had a 6lb Fluro leader. It did not seem to make too much difference though. We also caught fish on LC Pointers, X-Raps, spinnerbaits, and 1/2 ounce buzzbaits. We fished all the way from the West bays to the marina with most of the action coming on the Lakelawn side of the lake.

Nathan, did you here about that wreck across the street from your old place at Smith and 47? My buddy totaled his bike in that wreck but just ended up with some scrapes and bruises.
