So Sunday night I hit the DPR to no avail. From 8pm to 10pm along the banks in River Grove. I had one hit but she spit the hook and dropped to the bank.

Monday morning ( today) I hit it again. 5:30am to 7am. Finally had a hit and ended my early summer skunk since 5/11/11!

Both encounters posted at my new Blog. I typed them both up this morning while the events were fresh. Ill pretty them up later.

Its not so much bravery as stupidity.

I had about 6 LED headlamps in my car, all new in the package from work. I opened one when I arrived and couldnt get it to work so I went in anyway.
Im at work now and figured out the battery placement. Next time!!!

And thanks!

Nice adventure and new blog BHA.

You should invest in a nice headlight. Even a cheap one does the trick. But either way, there are far too many wierdo's along the DPR to go in blindly.
You're a brave soul. :p
My thoughts exactly. I have an energizer one that uses 3 triple aaa's is extremely bright, lasts forever and only cost 15 bucks. I've found myself using it for everything.

Stopped by after work yesterday, 6-8pm. Had a Channel Cat follow my spinner right up to the shore then turn away. Ive never seen one in that section before so I was pretty jazzed. Lost two pike that had a very non-aggresive bite.
That Cat got me excited however... Chicken Livers this weekend!

How big was the cat? I went there with chicken livers once and corn too and caught a ton of crawfish, they just cling onto it and move your line around and hold on till you reel in and you have to take them off because they don't let go lol.

I used go to the river a 2 years ago and I'd catch 6-8 pike in 2-3 hours. I went twice this year and several times last year and didn't do as well..
