IMO is better to wait for deals and buy better rods at a discount. Those Shimano rods listed above will perform far beyond anything you're looking at for a little more money. If you're really into fishing, I think it's crazy to buy a rod for $30 or $40 when you can search and almost always find a $80-$100 rod marked down into the $50 range.

I heard good things about those shimanos , I will look into those and the sales thanks.By the way I think I read somewere that shimano makes the field and stream rods for dicks if im not mistaken.

try the Berkley Amp rods from Dicks..they come in 2 piece and are 30 bucks..i've had mine for about 3 years for river smallie fishing, very durable and and great for smaller baits and square bills, top water and jerk baits..I believe they are rated up to 3/4 ounce but i don't go that heavy with those..They come in spinning and baitcast: 6', 6'6" and 7'

Thanks for the great info everyone I will sort it out ,i am not in any hurry as I have rods to get out with all med and lite , just want to get one med hvy for the future for some bigger baits if I have to go smaller like a 6,6 I will or a 6 but I think with all the info here I should find soemthing at 7 sometime before spring , lot of the stores do not stock well till after new year so we will take our time.

Ok I was at cabelas and took advantage of the sales ... found a 2 pc 7 mh (finally lol)tourney rod im7 for $45 on sale ....30% off all rods , looks like this one will work reg price is over $60 dont remember exactly ....nice rod for a good deal.

I have 3 Lightnings and 1 Cherry. All are 2 piece except for a 5' Lightning.

For the life of me I cant find 7 ft mh casting in these models in 2 pc anywere . only in spinning, I wouldnt mind trying a either one cherry or lighting, I usually use bass pro graphite series im6 but they dont have it in that size 2 pc either , at least last time I was there. Bionic blade has that size in 2 pc but I dont want to spend $80 .

Wow, that's crazy. I just looked and I have another Lightning, so it's 4 Lightnings and 1 Cherry. Other than the one piece 5', the Cherry is 6'0" and the three other Lightnings are 6'6" and are all 2 piece. It's hard to believe you can't find a 7' in 2 pieces. :shock:

Just curious are those spinning in 2 pc? because spinning you can find 2 pc all day long, its casting or trigger rods at 7 mh in those models I never seen.
