Reminds me of when my best friend moved from his cabin in the Alaskan bush to a retirement community in Boca Raton (I'm not kidding). I asked him if he preferred FL over AK.

He said he liked the fact that in FL he could go fishing everyday. Also said that when he went fishing in AK he carried a 10 gauge just in case a bear got too close. Didn't like the fact that gators could get close without being noticed and that if he carried his 10 gauge around the retirement community he'd probably get locked up.

Ah - the compromises we make for fishing.

Your friend already was lockup up, voluntarily.

A man in Africa violated a government lockdown order and was subsequently killed and eaten by a crocodile while attempting to go fishing.

Go fishing but be safe...
Yep, people are getting stir crazy. Like this this guy who couldn't stand his quarantine, stripped off his clothes, ran outside and bit a woman to death.

I'm doing alright. Got out to Braidwood once and had a great day. Hit a local lake in my kayak twice and fished a subdivision pond once. Just waiting for a couple warm days and I will hit up Lake Michigan. Maybe even sneak to SW Michigan for a day to fish a small inland lake.

Where you going to hit up LM? Just curious. All the launches are pretty much closed in Illinois and Indiana, with the exception of Waukegan.

Hit a CCFP spot for a few hours today. Not at all crowded. No fish either.

When I got home my wife insisted I take a shower & change clothes. My family is much more serious about this than I am and I'm the oldest and most vulnerable. Guess I'll have to start taking it seriously too or I'll be in deep yogurt.

I heard Portage was open. But that was last week.

After the IL River trip I snuck in a pond outing Saturday. I got poured on, but the fish were snapping and I am just plain weary of being inside the house all weekend long. Just canceled the annual Delavan reservations as the lodge is closed and I would not anticipate them opening anytime soon. For those of us who like to travel a bit for our adventures, we will really feel the sting once it starts warming up.

I wanted to get out Sunday, it was my first day off in the last 2 weeks. 50mph gusts pretty much shut down any fishing plans, not to mention how blown out the river is. I'm hoping to have an average 8hr work day sometime this week to go play in the stirred up chocolate river that is now the flooded Des Plaines.

Sure you heard by now, but the order right now is until 04/15. The governor misspoke.
Thanks!
Actually, no, I hadnt. I just looked around a bit & havent seen that, but I assume your right. This pleases me only mildly, but 2weeks is better than 6.

Quite the sauger slam! Looks like a hi-res pic from a 1980s outdoor notebook article! Very cool stuff!
